Registration of seven powdery mildew?resistant wild hop germplasm lines

چکیده
Cultivation of common hop (Humulus lupulus L.) has increased dramatically during the past decade, with primary growth occurring in Pacific Northwest United States. A major limitation to production is powdery mildew [caused by Podosphaera macularis (Wallr.) Braun & Takam]. To date, a comprehensive evaluation wild germplasm resources for resistance yet be conducted. Herein, we report first extensive screening 244 H. populations (6,732 individuals) collected from North America and Eurasia. We used an elimination approach sequentially inoculating four P. isolates containing virulence on all previously described R genes. detected presence representing extant pathogenic diversity seven germplasms (UMN-PMR-002 Male [Reg. no. GP-38, PI 699936], UMN-PMR-005 GP-39, 699937], UMN-PMR-006 Female [GP-40, 699938], UMN-PMR-007 GP-41, 699939], UMN-PMR-008 GP-042, 699940], UMN-PMR-010 GP-43, OU 699941], UMN-PMR-013 GP-44, 699942]). Based upon genotypic profiling, were identified var. originating These accessions could introgress broad-spectrum breeding programs worldwide.

240 Journal of Plant Registrations, Vol. 4, No. 3, September 2010 Pressure from the global textile market has dramatically increased spinning speed in the modern U.S. textile industry. Acceleration of spinning speeds toward 400 m min−1 requires high fi ber quality to reduce the cost to industry (Foulk et al., 2009). Broadening the genetic base in Upland cotton is essential for improvement of fi...

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] germplasm line N98– 4445A (Reg. no. GP-313, PI 636691) was developed and released in 2002 byUSDA-ARS, in cooperation with the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service. This line has a concentration of oleic acid in the seed oil that is approximately 550 g kg. This is between 340 and 380 g kg greater than commercial soybean varieties and 47 g kg more than the...
متن کاملRegistration of Durum Wheat Germplasm Lines with Combined Mutations in SBEIIa and SBEIIb Genes Conferring Increased Amylose and Resistant Starch.
Durum wheat [Triticum turgidum L. subsp. durum (Desf.) Husn.], used in pasta, couscous, and flatbread production, is an important source of starch food products worldwide. The amylose portion of the starch forms resistant starch complexes that resist digestion and contribute to dietary fiber. Increasing the amount of amylose and resistant starch in wheat by mutating the STARCH BRANCHING ENZYME ...
